Today I will Not be Thankful

I have decided after years and years of annual blogs outlining all the things I am thankful for, I am skipping it for this Thanksgiving of 2008.

I do not feel the need to take one day out of the year to remember the things I am thankful for, but instead I will live the rest of the 364 days until next Thankgiving remembering all of the blessings that are in my life and bestowing thanks upon those who have been part of my life.

So while I prepare this wonderfully delicious meal of turkey, stuffing and all the garnishes, I will not pause to reflect for a day on what I am thankful for. I will excitedly enjoy the company of my family whom I so rarely get to see and strive to spend the next year remembering to give thanks with a greatful heart.

But today, today I will not be thankful.

Meticulously Planning for T-Day

Well the whole fam is coming to our house for Thanksgiving. They are coming in Wednesday night late and staying until Sunday! Which means, I am making my very first Thankgiving Dinner. Yes, my mom will be here to help me (since I've never actually stuffed the turkey) I am excited to see my family but I am stressing out about many of the possible consequences of the week with everyone here.
So here's a little look at our Thankgiving Menu:
Turkey and Gravy
Stuffing
Homemade Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Cranberry Sauce
Green Bean Casserole (Margaret's Southern Alabama Style Recipe only!)
Salad
Corn
Homemade Bread
And Best of All: Pumpkin Torte! Which, for the record, is MUCH better than Pumpkin Pie. Its absolutely fabulous.

We are going to have a very full house this week. But I have two days off of work and I am thrilled. Ryan and I both have to work on Saturday, which sucks, but at least we don't have to leave my family at home to 'explore' by themselves. That might have catastophic results! :)

I finally slept last night for more than 3 hours. And while nightmares plagued my mind, the sleep was much needed and I am thankful.

Sleepless in Indianapolis

The day should just be starting.
I have been awake for hours.
Why can't I sleep without dreaming?

Please, don't make me sleep anymore.
